The NWC is an all-volunteer organization. We have no endowment (yet) and no source of income except... you. Actually, us. TOGETHER we can raise enough money to buy and enjoy parcels that none of us could afford on our own. Plus, donations are effectively tripled or quadrupled when leveraged as grant match. Fifty thousand dollars is a lot, but it’s “only” fifty $1,000 donations. Five thousand dollars is “only” fifty $100 donations. Twelve life memberships would pay for Conglomerate Falls.
TOGETHER we can do it! Take a look at the pages for each natural area. It’s incredible what we have accomplished so far. But some projects still need cash match, and some parcels have mortgages. Please join us, and please encourage your friends and family to join too! MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK. Individuals, families, groups, businesses; all are welcome. Your annual memberships help the NWC to conserve scenic and natural resources and provide public access to special places in the Keweenaw for the enjoyment and benefit of this and future generations.
All memberships and donations are tax deductible, and all are applied 100% to land conservation (expenses are donated by the Board).

Note to Michigan residents: a $400 donation to the NWC has a net cost of less than $200, because you get a $200 tax credit from the State and a Federal write-off as well. For Michigan businesses, the net cost of a $10,000 donation can be as little as $1500, including a $5,000 tax credit from the State (or 5% of taxes owed, whichever is less) plus approximately $3500 in Federal tax savings. To receive the Michigan tax credit, these donations must be made directly to the NWC Endowment (Contact Us).
