The North Woods Conservancy (NWC) is a non-profit 501(c) (3) corporation founded in 1992 and based in Upper Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula. The NWC is dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of natural areas for the benefit of native biological diversity, science and education, and public enjoyment. The Conservancy is operated by a volunteer Board of Governors and President, and has about 200 Members. The NWC holds an annual public meeting the first Saturday in October at the Allouez Township Hall, and publishes a periodic electronic newsletter.
